Working with estimates
The home screen — Projects & Estimates — lists your workspace's estimates. Everything starts here.
Creating and managing estimates
- New estimate creates one from your workbook template.
- Each card's menu offers Rename, Duplicate, and Delete.
- Duplicate is the quick way to start a variation of an existing bid.
- Delete removes the estimate and all its inputs after a confirmation — it can't be undone.
- Template estimates are protected: they can't be renamed or deleted from here (manage them on the Templates page).
Inside an estimate
Opening an estimate shows its sheets — the same sheets as the source Excel workbook. The grid works the way the workbook does:
- Enter values in input cells; every dependent formula recalculates instantly, in your browser. There's no server round trip and no "recalc" button — the workbook's own formulas run locally.
- Only the values you type are stored. The workbook's structure and formulas live in the template, so an estimate is just your inputs laid over it — small, fast, and always consistent with the source workbook.
Working offline
SWAG keeps working without a connection. Your entries queue locally and the sync badge in the header shows their state; when the connection returns, queued changes upload automatically. You can also check the badge before closing a laptop lid on a job site — if it shows pending changes, they'll go up next time you're online.
