Ask AI
At the end of Presets, once you are signed in: the questions that keep coming up, one press each, and a box for anything else.
Asking
Press Star trails, Sunset, Milky Way, Indoors, no flash or A moving subject — or type a question into Or ask anything and press Ask.
What you should see: the answer, in a few sentences, shown and said aloud; beneath it, the settings the answer named, in the same list the preset editor uses; and which sections of the manual it drew on — From the manual: Canon EOS R50 manual.
Shutter speed 30" · Aperture f4.5 · ISO 1600 · White balance daylight
The answer is grounded in Canon's own manual for the R50 and the R100, with general photography knowledge where the manual has nothing to say.
The settings come out of the answer
The list is read out of the answer by rules — "f/2.8" is an aperture, "ISO 1600" an ISO, "30 seconds" a shutter speed — so what is listed is what was said, and nothing is invented. A word like daylight counts as a white balance only when the answer says "white balance" near it; "shoot in daylight" is advice about when, not a setting. An answer that names no settings says so and offers nothing to save.
Save as a preset
One more press. Save these as arrives named after the button you pressed (or the first words of a typed question), and the new preset lands on the grid like any other.
It is not checked against the camera when it is saved — you may be asking from a laptop with no camera in reach. It is checked when it is pressed, and anything the mounted lens or body cannot do is reported then, the way a partial apply always is.
When there is no Ask
Ask appears only for an account the service can answer for. The public demonstration, a bridge started with --no-account, and a service with no Ask AI behind it show no box that cannot answer. If the service cannot be reached, the page says so and nothing else changes.
